Week 2 - Research task.

Babies and toddlers, first objects book.

- Karen Craig art style would suit this book better imo because she uses basic, simple shapes. It relies on block colours as well which are more suited for children. Even though these shapes are simple they can be easily associated with objects and animals.


Picture book - aimed at 3-6 years old.

- The art style for this book should be somewhere in-between an unrealistic/ basic or childlike style and a more realistic style such as the one seen in Stick Man, it has a richer colour palette, there are more shades of different colours, and attention to detail than the previous book. There are certain elements such big eyes to make the characters look cuter and more childish are are still kept from other styles aimed at an younger audience.


Information/ Reference title - aimed at 9-11 years old.

- Attention to detail and realism is more appropriate for this kind of books. I'd recommend Katie Dayne's work. She is a expert at writing educational books for children.
